Surgery is divided into different branches:
- Soft tissue surgery:
Also known as general surgery. It focuses on surgical practices affecting the ears, nasal cavity, neck, cardiothoracic structures, the hepatic system, the gastrointestinal system, the urogenital system and surgeries related to skin reconstruction or oncology.
- Trauma surgery:
Includes all surgeries related to the musculoskeletal system, i.e. bones, joints, ligaments, tendons and muscles, which are structures that require special consideration. Some of the most common surgeries in this discipline are:
- Resolution of fractures
- Correction of cranial cruciate ligament ruptures
- Correction of patella dislocation
- Correction of elbow or scapulohumeral joint abnormalities.
- Neurosurgery:
This is the surgery that accompanies the neurology service in those cases where the application of surgical procedures is required to correct or alleviate the pathology.
